2025-2026 School Year Registrations are OPEN!
We created our Kindergarten Prep Program as a transitional program designed to build a solid foundation for your child to thrive once they enter Kindergarten. We have thoughtfully curated our daily schedule to reflect Connecticut schools, including transitions throughout the day to various teacher-led activities similar to those in Kindergarten. Adjusting to these transitions and moving to different activities is a significant learning experience for children.
Our daily program is filled with meaningful academic activities, but we also recognize the importance of free play in nurturing your child's natural curiosity and creativity. The Kindergarten Prep Program is more structured and academically focused than our Preschool Program.
In contrast, our Preschool Program emphasizes helping your child adjust to a group learning environment. It encourages engagement during circle time and interaction with peers. While there is only one designated time for kindergarten readiness academic activities, the rest of the day includes a variety of engaging and less formal educational experiences. This program is a great stepping stone to our more academically focused Kindergarten Prep Program.
We have A and B-Weeks. On A-Weeks, we have "specials" that include Physical Education, Art, and more! On B-weeks, we do our farm animal learning, providing your child with a unique and exciting school day!
Our day is filled with learning opportunities via child-led learning stations and direct teacher instruction in groups and small groups with set times for literacy, math, creative arts, and STEM activities, all while still managing to get at least two hours of recess outside!
We use the "Experience Early Learning" curriculum on the Brightwheel online platform, which aligns with Connecticut's developmental standards for kindergarten readiness set by the Office of Early Childhood. Teachers will monitor children's progress through Brightwheel.
The class size will be at most 15 students. These smaller group sizes help adjust your child to a larger group of children so they are better prepared for larger kindergarten class sizes.
Miss Terri and Miss Megan are the teachers for this program. They both have experience teaching in public schools. Megan worked as a Kindergarten teacher. They are both dedicated to your child's growth and development!
